Our Castle Hill site has a wide range of allied health services available, with more being developed in the other villages. The services aim to keep residents and community clients fit, healthy and happy. They include occupational therapy, physiotherapy, podiatry, hydrotherapy, audiology and optometry. These services will be customised for the needs of each village as they’re introduced.
The range of services also covers more specific treatments for Parkinsons Disease and Type 2 Diabetes. Our Lungs in Action (an initiative of the Lung Foundation) and Breathe Easy Programs can also be accessed as well as our renowned BrightMinds and Better Balance programs.
All of our allied health professionals are experienced in the management of chronic conditions such as arthritis and are committed to helping our clients achieve an improved quality of life.
The Sir Vincent and Lady Fairfax Therapy Centre at Castle Hill
The Therapy Centre in Castle Hill is a fun place to be, brightly coloured with lots of activity and people about. The philosophy of the Centre is a simple one: to give people the tools and knowledge to maintain their independence. The Centre offers a physiotherapy treatment area, gym and purpose-built hydrotherapy pool - one of the few in Sydney with rails and a ramp available for adults in the wider community. There are even plastic wheelchairs available for those who cannot walk down the ramp. Aquatic physiotherapy is a wonderful service that uses the properties of the water as a treatment tool. Aquarobics classes help keep muscles strong without overloading the joints, and are a great way to exercise if you have arthritis.
The gymnasium is available for classes and personal independent exercise. You can also have our exercise physiologist prescribe a program for you. Elderly clients are able to access physiotherapy and occupational therapy services which are Commonwealth-funded Day Therapy Centre services.
