Life in the Village

Get ready to be busy. Or not, as the case may be. It’s nice to have a choice though, and there’s plenty of that at every ARV Village.

One of the first things you’ll notice is a pride in the appearance of the grounds. Gardens are well loved in our villages and manicured lawns and well-tended flowerbeds are evident throughout. That’s a reflection of the community spirit you’ll find. ARV people are passionate people. Every village has its characters, its creative spirits, its doers. It’s nice having people close by for a chat or friendly wave through the kitchen window. It’s also nice not to have to worry about mowing those lawns! You can happily head off on holiday and know that all those maintenance chores will be done for you while you’re away.

Things To Do, People To See

At every village you have a choice of areas and services for your enjoyment. There are libraries, cafes and kiosks, gardens, community rooms, BBQ areas and hairdressers on each site. Activities vary from village to village, but there are many including friendship groups, Bible study groups, gardening and craft clubs, men's clubs, aquarobics, exercise classes, bowls, bridge and lots more.

There’ll be many opportunities to meet new friends with similar interests in social clubs, outings and activities of all kinds. A Village Bus is provided in most villages for regular shopping trips, picnics and getaways.

As a Christian organisation, our villages have church services on site and residents can receive spiritual support and pastoral care from our chaplaincy teams if desired.
