What is Assisted Living?

Assisted Living provides accommodation for people in need of daily assistance for everyday living. This includes things like assistance with showering, dressing or administering medication.

Who is Eligible for Assisted Living?

What will it cost to enter Assisted Living (Low Care)?

An Accommodation Bond is payable for entry into Assisted Living in accordance with the provisions of the Aged Care Act 1997. For full details about costs please refer to the Financial Information page.

Are there any fees or charges?

Anglican Retirement Villages charges Resident Fees in accordance with the Aged Care Act 1997. The basic daily care fees can be found on the Financial Information page. Residents may be charged a higher daily care fee depending on their pensioner status, the level of Accommodation Bond that is paid and if they entered residential aged care prior to 20th March 2008. Some residents are also required to pay an income tested fee in addition to the basic daily care fee. This fee will vary depending on the level of income.

Villages may have an aviary or aquarium in common areas for the enjoyment of all residents. Due to the community nature of Villages, residents are not permitted to keep pets in their rooms or at villages.

What happens if my needs change and I can no longer stay in Low Care Assisted Living ?

Anglican Retirement Villages promotes the philosophy of ageing in place. This means that while the village that the resident lives in can provide them with the increasing care that they need, it will continue to do so. If the resident is assessed by the Aged Care Assessment Team as requiring high level care that can no longer be provided by the village, the resident may be required to move to a Nursing Home.

Current Commonwealth Government Policy guidelines on admission to such a facility requires that places are to be allocated on a "needs" basis. Access will be subject to a person being assessed as eligible for admission in accordance with Commonwealth Government laws and cannot be guaranteed.

Can my Resident Agreement be terminated?

You may at any time vacate the accommodation upon giving seven (7) days notice in writing. The conditions for vacating your accommodation are fully described in the Resident Agreement (which complies with the provisions of the Aged Care Act 1997).
