Motivated by God’s love through Christ, we will provide care and service that promotes the well being and enriches the lives of older people.
Values
We will seek to work together in a manner that reflects God’s love, best demonstrated in the example of Jesus Christ in order to meet the physical, social, spiritual and emotional needs of our residents and community clients. This is our Christian witness.
Our Specific Values
Servanthood
Following the example of Christ, who came to serve and not be served, we will focus on achieving excellence in service to our residents, clients and staff.
People
We will place a high value on honesty and mutual respect. We will strive to see our people fulfilled through the creation of work environments where openness, communication, teamwork, learning, and safety are paramount.
Stewardship
We will strive to achieve excellence, continually seeking means for improvement and innovation in our care and services. Furthermore, we will, with integrity, adopt the highest standards of ethical behavior in all our practices: care, legal, financial, environmental and all business practices.
ARV - Yesterday, Today, & Tomorrow
Yesterday
When Archbishop Mowll’s wife, Mrs Dorothy Mowll, had the vision to provide a home for retired clergy and church workers back in 1959, she probably had no way of knowing it would grow into one of Australia’s leading aged care service providers.
Today
Nearly 50 years on from these simple beginnings, our commitment to providing quality care and services to older people in a manner consistent with Christian values, continues to be our charter– we continue to“create communities of Christian care”, integrating elements of Christian faith in to everything we do.
Anglican Retirement Villages (ARV) has steadily developed and grown since its inception and now provides a wide choice of accommodation and service options to over 6000 residents and clients. ARV now owns and manages 22 Seniors Living operations and has two major projects under construction, with more in planning and development across the greater Sydney region.
The work of ARV continues to be part of the Anglican Christian Mission. Our focus is practical care and service provided to older people, but it is founded on the same Christian motivation.
Tomorrow
ARV is proactive in researching the needs of older people in order to provide facilities and services to meet their needs and expectations. Whether it be home-based services or larger units with modern design features, security, and a range of activities, ARV actively encourages positive ageing, giving older people and their families the flexibility to make the lifestyle choice that is right for them.
Corporate Governance
Anglican Retirement Villages (ARV) is constituted under an Ordinance of the Anglican Diocese of Sydney. A Board of Directors, appointed by the Archbishop, Synod and the Standing Committee, oversee the direction and management of the organisation in a manner consistent with the principles of Christian stewardship.
Chaplaincy Services
Creating Communities of Christian Care
Anglican Retirement Villages (ARV), being a Christian organisation, seeks to provide for the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of all residents and community clients.
From the first day that residents arrived at Mowll Memorial Village in 1960, Chaplains have been available to assist with the provision of Church services, pastoral support and spiritual encouragement. Today, with more than 4000 residents and community clients across Sydney, the original vision of "Creating Communities of Christian Care" has remained the same.
Ministry
At Castle Hill our villages are attended to by a team of chaplains and pastoral care workers who provide spiritual support and guidance in the form of church services, small group ministry and personal visitation. At all our other locations, special arrangements are in place with the local Anglican Church to ensure a similar level of spiritual care and attention is available.
