Amber had worked in recruitment and HR for seven years when she joined ARV as HR Coordinator. She has recently been promoted to the position of Regional HR Manager. “There are unlimited opportunities for those who want to grow and develop with the organisation,” she said.
As a Christian, Amber identified closely with ARV’s vision, mission and values from the outset.
“I wanted to work for an organisation that was making a difference in people’s lives and to contribute to this through my profession,” she said. “I support the Christian ethos by demonstrating God’s love, working to attract and retain the best staff.”
Many assume that ARV employees are engaged only in health services. “People may not consider working in aged care as they think it’s only for nursing professionals, but ARV has a host of varied jobs and careers that are really rewarding,” Amber said.
A highlight of her work with ARV has been the development of the Staff Agreement process, by which staff positions are classified according to a structure specific to the ARV context.
“The Agreement includes provision for superior rates of pay, with senior staff remunerated at levels comparable with commercial market rates”, said Amber.
“This project represented a definite learning curve for me but ARV gave me the resources and support I needed to achieve this objective.”
