Kingswood / Penrith
After a number of years of careful planning, construction is about to commence on ARV’s latest retirement village near Penrith.
This state of the art development will be spread across more than eight hectares of landscaped grounds with walking tracks and a club house. It will contain both a low rise residential aged care facility with 102 high and low care beds together with approximately 130 independent living apartments. These architecturally designed apartments will be a mixture of two and three bedroom accommodation.
As with all ARV developments there will be a strong emphasis on providing a range of recreational, social and community facilities for residents within the village.
Construction will commence in May 2010 and it is expected that the aged care facility will be finished by the start of 2012 with the independent living units following closely behind.
The new village is conveniently located close to the suburbs of Orchard Hills and Kingswood and is a short drive to Penrith CBD. The village forms part of the Caddens Release area with medical service and retail outlets located within close proximity to the site.
ARV has a long tradition of providing quality aged care in the Penrith area, through St Stephens Village, Henry Fulton Nursing Home and Lemongrove Gardens low care facility, as well as providing extensive community aged care programs. This new development is expected to help meet the increasing demand for aged care services in this rapidly growing area. The Village will also provide significant employment and training opportunities for local people.
The village, which will be accessed from Manning Street, has been designed with the needs of residents a top priority and aims to provide a true ‘village’ atmosphere. The buildings will be low rise, and the streets and walkways pedestrian friendly.
