Volunteer
Volunteers play a fundamental role in enhancing a resident’s quality of life and are a vital link in the care chain at ARV, working hand in hand with the staff to provide quality care.
Would you like to help?
The benefits of Volunteer work are enormous and include pride in the knowledge you are assisting people in need of support and cultivates a sense of achievement. Volunteering enables everyone to use their experience and talents to improve the quality of life of others, while developing new skills and making new friends and acquaintances.
Volunteers can assist in the following areas:

- Group outings – go on the trips to interesting places and assist with the residents
- Activities such as exercise groups, craft groups, friendship groups, indoor bowls and many others – assist the residents to participate
- Low-vision groups - reading, writing letters etc – bring back the joy of reading or assist the residents with their mail and other documents
- Respite for carers in the Day Centre – assist the staff to encourage the attendees to participate in various leisure activities
- Computer Club
- Listening Library
- Kiosk
Training is provided for all volunteers and volunteers are supported in their role by the Volunteer Co-ordinators.
