Beginning as Projects Manager at ARV in 2002, Peter is now GM, Property. He previously worked in foreman, contracts administrator and project manager roles with medium firms, such as Grindley Construction.

“I was already working on a large proportion of Aged Care projects,” Peter said, “when the opportunity arose to work for ARV. I liked the challenges of designing and building to meet the needs of the Aged Care market. As a Christian Not-for-Profit organisation ARV has a very clear focus on care for its residents.”

Challenging the common assumption that careers at ARV are only for health professionals, Peter has witnessed the enormous scope for property development, architecture, facilities, maintenance, legal, administration and finance.

“We manage a pipeline of 1300 Independent Living Units and Residential Aged Care Facilities, with 20+ sites and 30+ facilities,” Peter said.  “Most of our property stock was developed in the 1960-70’s and the aged care population will double by 2021.”

“Professionals in all disciplines will have a place in the significant development of aged care accommodation, solutions and infrastructure over the next few years.”

ARV has provided Peter with more than just a career path. “I am a Christian; made a commitment to the Lord almost 13 years ago. I also have a building background. The two fit hand in hand because now I can see what we create, develop and build and how it delivers Christian care to residents and families - how it delivers Christian care.”
